We never know where we are going in life, what path we’ll travel. I believe that if you do what you are supposed to do, then the good Lord will take you places you never dreamed of.
I didn’t have publishing in my future, but He did. God has blessed me with 11 books published. I don’t know if there will be any more, it is up to Him.
I love “country” and doing things the “old” way, but with modern comforts. We live on a small farm, with cows, horses, and chickens. My horse is named “Dolly”. We love to go for rides on Sunday afternoons with the grandchildren. They love it too. I have made lye soap and churned butter (just for fun). Children today do not know where milk comes from. It is great for them to see and learn the process.
I have crafty people in my family. My Dad can do anything with a piece of wood. My 2 brothers have their own cabinet shops. My sister, Pam has her own retail shop at Myrtle Beach, SC.
Back in 1979 when I started painting, it was therapy to stop smoking. It worked! I haven’t smoked since. It was hard for me to do others patterns. I had to do it my way. So I started designing my own patterns. Then started doing craft shows. It grew from there. The next thing I knew, I opened a shop. It was fun and lots of work. I do miss it. I closed when I started publishing books. Just didn’t have time to do both.
I have taken a few classes. That was hard too. I wanted to show the teacher different ways to do the project, (but didn’t).
Don’t be afraid to do your own thing. You never know where it will take you.
I am married to a wonderful man, Condor. You know, when you do crafts, there is “stuff” everywhere. He built me a studio back in 1997. So now all my stuff is in one room.We have 2 boys, Tony 32 and Adam 25. Both boys are married to wonderful girls. I couldn’t have asked for better daughter-in-laws. We have 4 grandchildren: Morgan 10, her brother Noah 2; Andy 5 and his brother Eli, 1 ½. We live within a mile of each other. Tony, my oldest son, went to Iraq in 2004 for a year. It was the longest year of our lives. He made it and is home for good. We do remember all the soldiers that are there now and the work they are doing to keep us safe. Pray for them everyday.
This is a picture of my dining room. I do love all that “Country Stuff”.

These are 2 of our chickens. The big one is “John-Henry” and the other one is “Bob”. Bob runs the yard. He is our “guard chicken”. He is the only one we let stay in the yard. The rest are pinned up in the chicken coop.
John-Henry weights about 15lbs. He will let you pet him sometimes. |
God Bless everyone.
